Creative Bereavement Drop-in Session - August

Switchboard Victoria's Creative Bereavement Sessions

Switchboard’s LGBTQIA+ Suicide Bereavement Program is hosting a series of creative bereavement sessions where participants will connect with loss after a suicide by participating in expressive exploration. When we experience grief, we feel big emotions, creativity and movement. Creative expression can allow us to understand our experiences differently, help us in our relationship to grief, and assist with connecting to our feelings and experiences that can feel beyond words.

All sessions will be held online via Zoom.

Please register and leave your details for a call back to discuss your interest in attending.

One of our staff will be in touch to discuss with you what it might be like for you to attend this session or explore other support options.

Due to lots of interest in our previous session, we are hosting this additional session in August with Rae for those who might have missed the opportunity to sign up.

Activity

Come and join Rae in this workshop where they will be exploring the concept of ‘continuing bonds’ through creative expression. Rae will guide this workshop by supporting us to create a ‘continuing bonds’ box which honours the loss of a loved one. Continuing Bonds is an idea surrounding grief and loss which gives us an understanding of how we can continue to connect with our loved ones after they have died by finding ways we can foster ongoing connections with them. Rae invites you to bring a long a box to collage, paint and draw and be creative on to create a space for our stories, memories, relationship and honourings.
