QTIBPoC Grounding Series - session 1

The QTIBPoC Grounding Workshops are a series of free workshop events for LGBTQIASB+ Indigenous, Bla(c)k and People of Colour, hosted by the QTIBPoC Program at Switchboard Victoria. Each workshop will be guided by a different QTIBPoC facilitator who will invite participants to reconnect to the self in space and time through a range of expressions and practices. All workshops link back to the theme of grounding.

About the facilitator: Amelia Jean O’Leary (she/they/yinarr) is a proud First Nations Gamilaroi Yinarr from Northern New South Wales currently living in Naarm (Melbourne). Her dance practice is about human and spiritual experiencing. Through complexity and adversity, she finds ways to tell coded and poetically rich stories. Her dances are personal and personified from her multidisciplinary skills in theatre, film and sound design. Amelia choreographed One Day as part of Melbourne Theatre Company’s First Peoples Young Artists Program at Yirramboi Festival. O’Leary is currently developing multiple new works.
About the workshop: My workshops are for relaxation and reconnecting with your body and imagination. This workshop includes light stretching, yoga and movement exercises including small improvisations and task. The objective is that everyone leaves feeling refreshed, connected and relaxed.

When: Thursday 27 May, 6:30 - 7:30pm

Where: Moss Studios, 101 Evans Street, Brunswick East, Melbourne
